The Application Support Administrator contributes and provide monitoring/support/investigation/fault administration on ETL applications and a Best in Class Datawarehouse.
This individual must have the skills necessary to understand the overall database and toolset architecture. The Application Support Administrator will be responsible for the analysis of failures and trends on ETL applications and the Database. The Application Support Administrator also provide support during DB and Application upgrades.
- ETL application monitoring, administration and support of 3rd Party applications running the Teradata Datawarehouse.
- Provide operational business support for the ETL applications running in the Enterprise Datawarehouse environment to ensure service is provided within customer Service Level Agreements
- Monitor, log, investigate and resolve failures on ETL processing
- Liaising with and provide assistance to customer representatives during problem resolution
- Provide accurate and clear verbal and written reporting for application failure investigations and resolution
- Perform scheduled daily, weekly monthly support tasks
- Perform investigations on application support techniques to continually improve operational support and simplify achievement of customer SLAs
- Perform proactive analysis of failures and trends on 3rd Party applications and data to improve service levels
- Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades and deployment of 3rd Party applications
- Provide application performance information and participate in periodic support compliance audits
Perform after hours standby support on 3rd Party applications running in a production environment
- Knowledge of Teradata Database.
- Knowledge of ETL tools, such as Oracle Data Integrator or AbInitio.
Education Required: Tertiary Qualification or a relevatn IT qualification – 3 years
Job Related Exprience required: Software application support experience – 3 years
