Requirements
A Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse plus a post basic qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science. Proof of current registration is a requirement. A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to maintain patients and relatives respect and dignity.
Duties
Provision of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional/ legal framework. Effective utilisation of Human and Material resources. Participation in training and research. Provision of support to Nursing Services. Maintain professional growth, ethical standards and self-development. Promotion of a scientific, high quality nursing care that is cost effective and efficient

Certified copies of ID and qualifications should also be attached (certification should not be more than six months old). It is a legislative requirement that all newly appointed staff members are subjected to Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) – verification, upon appointment within the Department. This verification process entails reference checks, identity verification, qualifications verification, criminal record checks as well as a credit/financial stability check. Successful candidates will be subjected to OHS medical surveillance as required by HBA regulations within the OHS Act 85 of 1993. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only.
