Position Purpose :
The purpose of the PWD Internship Programme is to;
o Improve the skills levels for People Living with Disabilities and create skills pool for Transnet and the industry at large.
o Create a diverse workforce and the work environment that supports the attraction, development, advancement and
retention of people from designated groups at all levels in the organisation,
o Foster a culture that values and responds to the rich diversity of all employees.
o Create an environment that embraces diversity.
o Implement affirmative action measures to create an equitable workforce
Position outputs :
Successful candidates will be required to undergo the 12 months on the job training to acquire skills in line with their own
fields of study and the Transnet Operational requirements. There will be compulsory and continuous evaluation and
monitoring.Candidates will be rotated during their training within the business to get background in other technical fields,
however still focusing on their core discipline.
NB.TRAINING WILL BE DONE IN THE DURBAN AS PER BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS AND THAT THERE IS NO
GUARANTEE FOR PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT AFTER COMPLETION OF THE 12 MONTHS TRAINING.
Qualifications & Experience :
Applicants must have a 3 year National Diploma / B Degree in the following disciplines:
Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial)
Human Resources / Industrial Psychology / Labour Relations
IT/ Computer Science
Office or Administration Management
